Who We Are
2019 marks the Urban Group’s 35th year as housing and community revitalization consultants and advisors to public sector agencies, non-profit corporations, and private/public development consortiums involved in government financed projects. The firm’s notable competency is administering federally funded projects under the governance of the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act (Uniform Act), and U.S.HUD 104(d) relocation programs.
Much of TUG’s assignments include projects using federal funding. A focus area of service is managing residential relocation programs when tenants are permanently displaced resulting from a federally funded project. TUG has implemented and managed housing redevelopment projects governed by the policies and practices specified in the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970, as Amended (URA), and HUD 104(d) relocation programs.
TUG also provides relocation disposition activities in accordance with the Manufactured Home Land Lease Community Landlord Tenant Act, Florida Statutes 723, when mobile home lease lot communities close and residents are required to vacate. TUG is directing HUD guided acquisition and closing facilitation services of bank foreclosed residential properties in federal Neighborhood Stabilization Programs under NSP1 and NSP2 governance. In Florida, TUG is increasing its involvement in real estate acquisition activities for Community Redevelopment Agency’s (CRA) under authority of Florida Statute 163.
The company is a member of the Florida Association of Realtors®, and is active in the Florida Redevelopment Association and the Florida Housing Coalition. Serving as housing consultant project managers, TUG facilitated the construction of 2,133 federally funded housing units in Florida with a total development cost of $150,000,000. Most projects were constructed using HUD funding.
The firm has carried out distressed asset disposition services of FHA foreclosed properties in custodial possession of HUD, and for forfeited real estate held by the U.S. Marshals Service.
